This is the 3rd book in the Glory St. Clair series by Gerry Bartlett.
Gloriana St. Clair, Glory to her friends, is a four hundred year old vampire. She was turned vampire on what she feels was a 'bloated' day, and so is stuck in a size 12 for eternity.
Glory believes in blending in with the mortal world, she drinks synthetic blood and is a firm believer in 'no humans for lunch, or any other meal for that matter'. She owns a vintage second hand store and is very proud of her independence - much to the chagrin of her 'maker' and sometimes lover Jerry Blade, who would love nothing more than to have Glory marry him and move into his home - much to the chagrin of his mother, who thinks that Glory is a money hungry slut.
In this installment of Glory's life we find Glory and her faithful companion Valdez, the talking dog, in the alley behind Glory's building. Someone has been attacked and left for dead. Glory has the ability to save this woman - but it would mean doing something Glory has never done before, something she really does not want to do - but she can't just let the woman die - can she?
This was a good read. Glory and company are hilarious and I look forward to finding out what new mischief they can get into with each book.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
