These are the 5th and 6th books in the YA Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine. :)
Lord of Misrule
Book Blurb:
In the college town of Morganville, vampires and humans coexist in (relatively) bloodless harmony. Then comes Bishop, the master vampire who threatens to abolish all order, revive the forces of the evil dead, and let chaos rule. But Bishop isn't the only threat.
Violent black cyclone clouds hover, promising a storm of devastating proportions as student Claire Danvers and her friends prepare to defend Morganville against elements both natural and unnatural.
Carpe Corpus
Book Blurb:
In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace - until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He's kept a death grip on the town ever since.
Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants - the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?
I really enjoy this YA series. :)
If you are not familiar with the Morganville Vampire series - this is the ongoing story of Claire Danvers and her experience with the resident vampires of Morganville, Texas.
Claire came to Morganville to attend college - but the college brochure failed to tell her that vampires live in Morganville and have for hundreds of years.
Each book picks up right where the previous book left off. The story surrounds Claire and her boyfriend Shane - Michael and his girlfriend Eve. They all live together (in seperate rooms) in Michael's family home.
I love the way the four friends interact with each other and re-act to the disasters that are happening in the town the live in.
If you have not tried the Morganville Vampire series I don't think you will be disappointed. This is a wonderful YA series. :)
I give both books and the entire series 5 out of 5 stars.

Loved the review Michelle. Fabulous series! :)
Kimberly,
Thank you. :) Even though I have all of the books - I'm looking forward to the omnibus edition - I love omnibus editions - they take up less space on the book shelf. :)

Great Review Michelle! Carpe Corpus, I just loved. It's one of my favorite books in the series!
I see your reading City of Bones. I have that on audio, and plan to listen to it soon. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it.
That first one is on my Amazon wish list, so I remember :) But if they are this good, then perhaps I shouldn't start them and save some money, lol
This is another series I need to read. Thanks for the review Michelle, I forgot about wanting to read this series until now. :)
Left you an award over at my place

This is one of my all-time favorite series.
I think Claire is a fantastic protagonist and a wonderful role-model for young readers. She's an intelligent and caring young woman who makes mistakes but is otherwise just trying to survive being a teenage geek/outcast... not to mention a town full of blood-thirsty vampires.
Best young adult urban fantasy series EVER!
