Review: Seduced by Shadows

This is the first book in the Marked Souls series by Jessa Slade.

Book Blurb:

When Sera Littlejohn meets a violet-eyed stranger, he reveals a supernatural battle veiled in the shadows, and Sera is tempted to the edge of madness by a dangerous desire. Ferris Archer takes Sera under his wing, now that she is a talyan - possessed by a repentant demon with hellish powers. Archer's league of warriors have never fought beside a female before, and never in all his centuries has Archer found a woman who captivates him like Sera.

With the balance shifting between good and evil, passion and possession, Sera and Archer must defy the darkness and dare to embrace a love that will mark them forever.

This is my first DNF - Did Not Finish

Seduced by Shadows sounds promising in the blurb - but fell short in actuality.

At first it appears to be your typical 'tormented guy finds girl' yada, yada, yada. And it was in the beginning - but then it just lost all the momentum it had and died.

I made it to page 232 out of 387 - and I just put it down. I'm not interested in the characters or what happens to them. This could be due to the fact that out of those 232 pages we only had 2 encounters with the bad critters - the rest was talk. And not good talk - boring talk.

Seduced by Shadows was just boring.

My rating is DNF.

Sadly, I have about 2 DNF's a month. I figure I have so many books to read that if I feel like I'm forcing myself to sit down to read another page, it's time to pick up another book and put that one down :). It always sucks, becasue there was a reason why I bought it in the first place, you know.

Uh oh dang and it did look good too. I've had a few DNF myself the last few months. They went straight to the used bookstore. I'll skip this one I think thanks for the review. :)

Its really sad to come across a DNF. I've experienced a few and it always left me in a dissatisfied state of mind.

B,

I really wanted the story to pick up - I had such high hopes. :)

Amy J,

Thank you. :)

Amy C,

I agree. I hate to give up on a book - usually I will push thru it - but not this one. :) I could not force myself to read it.

Donna,

You may find something in it that I didn't. :) I look forward to your thoughts on it.

Jenn,

You are welcome. :) I put it aside for paperbackswap and the lady that requested it just sent an email saying thank you for sending a book that was in such good condition. LOL That is because it was barely read. :)

Tamsyn,

I am the same. I feel like I am letting myself and the book down by not finishing it. :)

Thanks ladies for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.
