Review: Dragon Actually

Dragon Actually is the first book in the Dragon Kin series by G A Aiken and a Zebra Paranormal Romance.

Book Blurb:

It's not always easy being a female warrior with a nickname like Annwyl the Bloody. Men tend to either cower in fear - a lot - or else salute. It's true that Annwyl has a knack for decapitating legions of her ruthless brother's soldiers without pausing for breath. But just once it would be nice to be able to really talk to a man, the way, she can talk to Fearghus the Destroyer.

Too bad that Fearghus is a dragon, of the large, scaly and deadly type. With him, Annwyl feels safe - a far cry from the feelings aroused by the hard-bodied, arrogant knight Fearghus has arranged to help train her for battle. With her days spent fighting a man who fill her with fierce, heady desire, and her nights spent in the company of a magical creature who could smite a village just by exhaling, Annwyl is sure life couldn't get any stranger. She's wrong...

Dragon Actually was a very entertaining read. :)

Annwyl the Bloody has had to fight for her life since coming to live with her father - because her brother hates her and wants her dead - a feeling she gladly returns. Annwyl wants nothing more than to kill her brother and has spent years fighting his troops in the hopes of getting close enough to her brother to accomplish her goal.

Fearghus lives alone in his lair and tolerates occasional visits from his family - but he is not a dragon to be messed with, he prefers his solitary existence. That is until the day the human woman falls at his feet. Not one to meddle in the affairs of humans - Fearghus is surprised at his feeling of protectiveness towards the woman.

I really enjoyed Dragon Actually. It is full of humor and sass, action and romance. Annwyl is one tough cookie and Fearghus is one hot dragon. :)

I give Dragon Actually 5 out of 5 stars and I have books 2 & 3 on the tbr shelf. :)

Loved this one too. If you didn't know G.A. Aiken is also Shelly Laurenston. If you ever get a chance read her Magnus Pack & Pride stories. I can't get enough of those two series.

Michelle, I don't know where on your tbr shelf books 2 & 3 are but I'd pick them up sooner rather than later! What a Dragon Should Know is hilarious and one that I've read a million time since its release!

This sounds wonderful!
It's been ages since I've read a book with a dragon it - too long!
I am adding this one to my TBR list!

Great review.

Mandi,

I had heard great things about this series for a long time - I was very glad to finally get the chance to read this one. :)

Anna,

I did know that - but I have not read Ms. Laurenston's work. I will add those to my wish list. :)

Dana,

My tbr shelf is 200+ strong. I just have them lined up in no particular order - but I do have books by the same author grouped together. LOL When it's time for a new book I go in there and stare at one shelf and then go over and stare at the other shelf. Usually I end up doing eanie, meanie, minie, mo. LOL Or I close my eyes and just pick one up - I figure I must want to read all of them - or they wouldn't be on the shelves in the first place. I'm glad to know you enjoyed this series so much. :)

MsM,

Thank you. :)I hope you enjoy it as much as we have and I look forward to your thoughts on it. :)

B,

And what a dragon he is - huge and black. But what is so funny to me is all of his dragon family - especially his Mama. :)

Thanks for stopping by ladies and taking the time to comment.

I am eagerly awaiting her next book in September. :) This was actually the second book of hers I read since I read them out of order (this is what happens when your TBR pile crashes!) I can't wait to hear what you think of the next two you have.
