And here is the third picture prompt:

My Story: Word Count 440

Loss

Farin fought with every fiber of her being, her mate by her side and her supporters at her back. She never dreamed her leadership would be questioned so soon after her fathers death.

This unexpected assault had caught everyone off guard, the nights quiet shattered by howls of rage and whimpers of defeat. The smell of blood and bowels heavy in the air.

Farin caught Siobhan in mid leap and ripped her throat out - she had never liked the bitch, not after the way Siobhan acted when Rhin turned down her advances in favor of Farin. But she never thought Siobhan would take things this far.

She lost count of the number of wolves that came at her - mindless with the need to protect her pack and mate against all aggressors - she gave in to her animal and became lost in teeth and claws.

Finally, sides heaving with exhaustion, Farin turned to survey the damage. She was surrounded by the bodies of those she had long considered her family. Those who had turned on her as well as those who had stood by her side. The loss was overwhelming.

Farin shifted and walked naked through the carnage, looking for Rhin and anyone who had survived the attack. Thankfully, the old ones had taken the young and fled to the surrounding woods. They, at least, would have been spared.

Finding a group of injured, Farin stopped to access the damage they had received. She was gladdened that their injuries were not life threatening. “Have you seen Rhin?”

“I am here, my love. All in well.” Farin turned at the sound of his voice, a smile of relief on her face.

“Rhin, behind you.” Farin screamed as the wolf jumped from the shadows, taking Rhin by the throat and ripping his head from his shoulders before running off into the night.

Farin shifted and took off after the wolf. She had his scent and vowed to track him until she caught him and slaughtered him - even if it took the rest of her life.

Ignoring the pain in her soul, Farin tracked the wolf for hours - finally finding him holed up in a cave. He was bleeding from injuries he had sustained in the fight - but she cared not.

Farin gave no quarter - she ripped her brother limb from limb, finally gutting him and leaving his body for the scavengers.

She headed home, it would be dawn soon. The moons were low in the sky. Slowly making her way to the top of a rock outcropping, Farin tipped her head back and howled her anguish into the fading night.

The End

Oh,my goodness, Michelle!! You are so talented with these flash fictions!

Bravo!!

I'm going to be late posting mine today. I am having serious back issues, but I did get it written up. Not sure how good it is, but I did it and it took my mind away from things for a while.
