Blog Tour Review: Blood Trinity by S. Kenyon & D. Love

Blood Trinity is the first book in the Belador series by Sherrilyn Kenyon & Dianna Love and an Urban Fantasy from Pocket Books.

Book Blurb:

Atlanta has become the battlefield between human and demon.  All her life, Evalle Kincaid has walked the line between the two.  Her origins unknown, she's on a quest to learn more about her past...and her future.

When a demon claims a young woman in a terrifying attacked and there's no one else to blame, Evalle comes under suspicion.  Now she's on a deadly quest for her own survival.  Through the sordid underground of an alternate Atlanta where nothing is as it seems to the front lines of the city, where her former allies have joined forces to hunt her, Evalle must prove her innocence or pay the ultimate price.

But saving herself is the least of her problems if she doesn't stop the coming apocalypse.  The clock is ticking and Atlanta is about to catch fire...

This book was submitted for review as part of the Blood Trinity blog tour and I retain my copy.

I really wanted to love this book.  Blood Trinity is written by two of my favorite authors and I was so excited when I heard that they were going to dip their feet in the Urban Fantasy pond.

But I had issues with Blood Trinity.  First of all the name, Evalle - I just do not like it.  Late in the book we are told where this name comes from - and that, in itself is very sad.  I ended up calling her Eva throughout the book.

Next I ran into trouble with all the players.  There is this group over here and their god.  Another group over there and their god - a mediator/advocate, a Tribunal, co-workers and a creeper/stalker/vigilante dude who may end up as a love interest.  The good guys, the bad guys and the ambiguous guys who could go either way.  :)

It was a lot to take in - but I realize that this is the first book in a new series and a lot of ground had to be covered.

I loved that Evalle is a smart mouthed, kick ass chick with attitude to spare.  She rides a motorcycle and has these biker boots that conceal blades - she is tough - but broken in her own way.  We found out a little about her past - but even she does not know half of it - and what we found out was not happy.

The world that has been created has a few new players - and these Nightstalkers have abilities that are unique.  I really enjoyed that new twist and wonder what role these spies/informants will play in the future.

I have to say that my favorite character in the book is Feenix - he is hilarious and provided much needed laughter in the midst of all the serious goings on in Blood Trinity.

I give Blood Trinity 3 out of 5 stars.

Hi Michelle -

Thanks so much for reading Blood Trinity. Feenix was a hoot to write and we had a blast creating this new world set in Atlanta. Thanks for your interest in our new series.

Hi Michelle
Evalle, meh, I do not like that name either, I get all confused if it's male or female
