Review: In Over Her Head by Judi Fennell

In Over Her Head is a Romance novel by Judi Fennell from Sourcebooks Casablanca.

Book Blurb:

He Lives Under The Sea...

Reel Tritone is the rebellious royal second son of the ruler of a vast undersea kingdom, and he's always been fascinated by humans...

She's Terrified Of The Ocean...

Marina owner Erica Peck would never go swimming willingly - but she's forced into the water and is nearly eaten by a shark.  Luckily Reel is nearby to save her, and he discovers she's the woman he's been searching for...

Before she knows it, Erica is off with Reel on a wild underwater adventure to recover a stolen treasure, battle a jealous sea monster, and, of course, defy a death edict from the kingdom's high court.  But even if they make it through their madcap mission alive, can they find a way to stay together when she hates the water and he can't escape the sea?

In Over Her Head is a fun, quirky read - great entertainment.  :)

Reel has lived in the ocean his entire life - but funnily enough he has a great knowledge of several languages.  I laughed when he had meaningful conversations with his underwater friends; fish, eels, sharks....

Erica suffered a traumatic experience as a child and has since been terrified of the water.  Imagine how she must have felt when the man she thought she loved - who was supposed to love her in return, forced her into the ocean.

Reel rescues Erica from sure death by giving her the ability to breathe underwater - which is strictly forbidden.  Now the two must comply with the Council in order to keep Erica alive.

I enjoyed In Over Her Head - it made me think of an old movie I watched with my grandmother years ago, The Incredible Mr. Limpet starring Don Knotts - and a not so old movie I watched with my children, The Little Mermaid.  :)

I give In Over Her Head 3 out of 5 stars.
