Review: Sugar and Sin by Stella & Audra Price

Sugar and Sin is the first book in the Eververse series by Stella & Audra Price from Tease Publishing.

Book Blurb:

Loves lost, intrigue and the return of the rightful heir.

Step into the Eververse.  A decadent world close to our own where supernatural races coexist with humanity and quietly influence the world around them.  Rife with demons, witches, fey, vampires, assassins, and magic.  Eververse is where fantasy come true, good doesn't always triumph over evil, battles for supremacy are won and lost, and almost anything is possible.

What do you do when everything you ever loved is taken away from you with no hope of ever getting it back?  You join forces with some unlikely friends and take back what's yours, with interest.

What would you give for a second chance?  Astrid, a witch, has often wondered what would happen if her lover, Fallon, a teleport demon, came back to her.  After a year apart it seems fate will bring them together once more, and their relationship is going to be tested with a new threat to their lives and the lives of their friends.  A reckoning is coming, and its time to choose sides.  When the exiled demon prince Cassiel gives Astrid an offer she can't refuse, will her relationship with Fallon pay the price?

My thoughts:

Sugar and Sin introduces us to several players - and I do mean players.  Fallon and his BFF Feyd are horn dogs - adding notches to their bedposts daily.

That is until they realize that they have found 'the one' in Astrid and Ashlyn.

Fallon spent more time with Astrid than any other woman he's ever known, told her things he's never spoken about with another - and she still loves him.  That is unbelievable to someone with a past like Fallon.

Feyd is a bed 'em and leave 'em kinda guy - he never lets the door hit him in the a$$ on his way out.  Then he meets Ashlyn and he can actually think about a possible future with her.

But things in their world are unstable - and it seems like more than a few people want something from Astrid and Ashlyn.  Before anyone can think about a future together - they have to take care of the here and now.

I am intrigued by this Eververse and give Sugar and Sin 3 out of 5 stars.  I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Hi Michelle!

Thank you so much for the review! I'm so glad you liked it, and that you understood the characters enough to make a judgment on them.

Audra and I write characters that have questionable morals and jobs, but really they are like most guys, and most men are horn dogs... It just happens that we let them get away with it in our books. it works for them, and it works for the relationships they have (I also noticed you didn't mention Astrid and Cash, thank you!). You will see if you choose to continue to read the series, that things are not as cut and dry as they are in the first book. (also, If you dont know, several of our free books, Bargain by Starlight and Enjoy the Afterverse, belong to this series too...)

I hope you will read Arcady and Snow's book... gotta love a naughty incubus with a need to settle down...

Hello Stella,

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. :)

I have wanted to read the Eververse series for some time and my lovely friend Anna from Anna's Book Blog gave me Sugar and Sin for Christmas - she is a huge fan.

I like that the characters have human qualities and hang-ups - even if they are not quite human. That added paranormal element is what intrigues me the most.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Have a great day.
