Review: Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich

Smokin’ Seventeen is the seventeenth book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich and a novel from Bantam.

Book Blurb:

Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds.  No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie’s name is on the killer’s list.

With a cold-blooded killer after her, a handful of hot men, and a capture list that includes a dancing bear and a senior citizen vampire, Stephanie’s life looks like it’s about to go up in smoke.

My thoughts:

With the bonds office burned to the ground the gang have set up temporary shop in Mooner’s bus.

This is not so good for business.

But what’s worse is the fact that a dead body has turned up in the empty lot - and then another.  And now it seems as though Stephanie has something to do with the perp.

Ranger and Morelli are working on finding out who the killer is before he decides to make Stephanie his latest victim.

Not one to stay home and wait for ‘what’s next’ - Stephanie and Lula head out to bring in some bail jumpers.  After all, a girl has to pay her bills.

If all of this weren’t enough to worry about, an old high school acquaintance is back in town and looking for...something.  His mother and Stephanie’s mother think they would make the perfect couple.

With two steady men in her life - and neither ready to commit - Stephanie is quite sure she doesn’t have the time or the inclination to add another.  Too bad she can’t make the new guy understand.

The Stephanie Plum series is one of my all time favorites, and I was not disappointed with Smokin’ Seventeen.

I give Smokin’ Seventeen 5 out of 5 stars and I can’t wait for the next installment - Explosive Eighteen - due out November 22, 2011.  I believe we are going to get a decision with 18 :)
