Review: Blood on Silk by Marie Treanor

Blood on Silk is the first book in the Awakened By Blood series by Marie Treanor and a Paranormal Romance from Signet Eclipse.

Book Blurb:

Give in to it, Elizabeth.  Give in to evil.

Scottish academic Elizabeth Silk is spending the summer in Romania researching historical superstitions for her PhD.  While she is tracing local folktales, one subject in particular sparks her imagination.

His name is Saloman, legend’s most powerful vampire, a seductive prince staked centuries ago.  Now, in the ruins of a castle crypt, Elizabeth discovers the legends are real.

Her blood has awakened him.  Her innocence has aroused him.  But Elizabeth unleashes more than Saloman’s hunger.

My thoughts:

Elizabeth Silk has immersed herself in her work - to the exclusion of all else.  Now working on her thesis for her PhD, Elizabeth finds herself in a small Romanian village listening to folktales that have been passed down from generation to generation.  Oddly enough, the tales have a common thread - a vampire named Saloman.

When a local sends Elizabeth off to find the final resting place of Saloman - her world is turned upside down with the revelation that Saloman was real - and really a vampire.

Unknowingly, Elizabeth releases the imprisoned vampire which prompts a visit from the local vampire hunters.  Now Elizabeth must decide to join in their fight against the vampire or flee.

But Saloman has plans for Elizabeth and no matter the decision she makes - whether friend or foe - he wants her for his own.

Blood on Silk is the first book I have read by Marie Treanor and I enjoyed it.

Elizabeth is no shy flower - she is willing to jump in and fight when needed.

Saloman has a bit of an ego - he is willing to do whatever he thinks is necessary to accomplish the goals he’s set for himself - no matter who or what stands in his way.

I give Blood on Silk 4 out of 5 stars.
