Deliver Me From Darkness is the first book in the Paladin Warriors series by Tes Hilaire and a Paranormal Romance from SourceBooks Casablanca.
Book Blurb:
A stranger in the night...
He had once been a warrior of the Light, one of the revered Paladins. A protector. But now he lives in darkness, and the shadows are his sanctuary. Every day is a struggle to overcome the bloodlust. Especially the day Karissa comes to his door.
She is light and bright and everything beautiful - despite her scratches and torn clothes. Every creature of the night is after her. So is every male Paladin. Because Karissa is the last female of their kind. But she is his. He may not have a soul, but he can’t deny his heart.
My thoughts:
Karissa Donovan found her Grandfather murdered and fled - with demons and imps hot on her trail. Her Grandfather told her if she ever needed help - to find Logan Calhoun.
Arriving on Logan’s doorstep battered, bruised and unconscious - Logan has no idea who she is - or what she wants. Thinking to place her somewhere safe until she wakes, Logan takes her to his best friend Roland.
Roland is a vampire and when Karissa wakes all she knows is that she is locked in with a vampire - and she wants out.
But despite her fears, Karissa is safest with Roland. Because the demons want Karissa for one reason only - to bring down the Paladins.
And now that Roland has met Karissa, he realizes that she is his bond mate - and he will do everything within his power to keep her safe - even if it means defying the Paladins.
Deliver Me From Darkness is an okay read. A little slow going for me - but sometimes, with a new series, the first book takes a little time to get everything set up. I enjoyed it well enough to want to read more in the series.
I give Deliver Me From Darkness 2 out of 5 stars.
