Review: Assassins in Love by Kris DeLake
Assassins in Love is the first book in the Assassins Guild series by Kris DeLake and a Romance from SourceBooks Casablanca.
Book Blurb:
When One Killer Falls For Another...
Agent: Misha
Profile: Highly trained in every method the assassins guild has to offer. Always goes by the book.
Agent: Rikki
Profile: Rogue assassin who kills only to rid the world of hardened criminals. Hates organizations. Always does it her way.
Love Becomes A Matter Of Life And Death...
Misha's mission is to get Rikki to join the guild or give up her guns. He completely underestimated the effect she would have on him...and what heat and chaos they could bring to each other...
My thoughts:
Misha was raised by an assassin, trained by the Guild, and lives by the rules and regulations set forth by the Guild. Recently Misha has been questioned about several kills that he did not perform - kills that were not Guild sanctioned.
He knows who is responsible and he is determined to see her brought into the Guild - or see to it that she stops assassinating...
Rikki is an independent assassin who does not kill indiscriminately - she researches to make sure the target deserves to die before taking the contract. She does not work for the Guild - they have too many rules - this limits where she can legally kill.
Her latest target is aboard a luxury cruise ship in deep space. She has her plan in place and it should go off without a hitch. But Rikki did not plan on running into Misha.
Now her plans for a clean kill and a quick getaway have hit a snag - especially when she finds out exactly who Misha really is...and what he has planned for her.
Assassins in Love is an enjoyable read. I like Rikki - she is tough and more than able to take care of herself.
I give Assassins in Love 3 out of 5 stars.

Great review! I read this one a few weeks ago (review post tomorrow) and I wasn't too enthused with it, unfortunately. I tried, but..it just didn't grab my attention. 2 stars was my final rating.
But there are others, I know, that would love this book, and that's okay with me!
Enjoy,
