Bleh. I've been under the weather the last couple of days. I've grabbed some Alka Seltzer and I'm trying to take care of it before it gets out of hand. No one wants to feel icky on Christmas. :) That zombie series I've been reading is about finished. It was a fantastic read. Here are the books I want to share with you today.
Dead: Reclamation by T W Brown - 4 Stars ****
Years have passed since the dead rose and wiped out most of the living. Many survivors have gathered in pockets around the world. Some are bent on trying to restore what once was, others with a mind to create something new and better from the ashes of civilization, and then there are those who now thrive in the hellish chaos of lawlessness.
While the undead currently roam the world in herds that can often stretch for miles and number in the millions, the zombies are no longer the biggest threat to humanity’s continued existence. That distinction has returned to mankind.
Those who are immune to the zombie infection are now either reviled or revered. Some have become human biological weapons, while others are seen as the last hope for the continued existence of the human race. They are a symbol of hope for some...fear to others.
Dead: Blood and Betrayal by T W Brown - 4 Stars ****
The days of being afraid of the walking dead are long since past. While they still prove to be a menace when they are found in massive herds numbering in the hundreds of thousands if not the millions, it is now the living that can be the most terrifying. Humanity is clawing to regain its place, and some will do anything to ensure their own survival...even at the cost of others.
The world is a wide open place and lawlessness abounds. The fate of civilization hangs in a delicate balance. With nobody looking over your shoulder, would you choose good...or evil? The choices made by a few could mean the end of hundreds of lives and reduce the chances that man will outlast the zombie in a world without order.
Mortal Heir by Emma L Adams - 4 Stars ****
Changeling. Thief. Mortal heir in a world of treacherous immortals.
Raine Warren, half-faerie changeling and master thief, wants nothing to do with the family who abandoned her in the human realm as a child. But when Faerie comes knocking, claiming she's descended from Sidhe nobility, she's handed an unexpected legacy. One catch: it comes in the form of a sceptre containing dark power coveted—and feared—by every faerie court, and no instruction manual.
Now her name's on every hit list in Faerie, and the other Sidhe will do anything to take her off the playing field... permanently. Her last hope is to strike a deal with a charming thief with his own agenda and his own plans for the sceptre. On the run from assassins and hunted by the most powerful faeries in both realms, embracing the dangerous magic of Faerie might be Raine's only means of survival.
Strangehold by Rene Sears - 3 Stars ***
Morgan Tenpenny has retreated from her painful, magical past, choosing to live quietly as a guardian of one of the gates between worlds. But her sister Gwen is married to a lord of the High Court of Faerie—and when Gwen asks her to protect her nieces, it's time for Morgan to emerge from her seclusion. The gates to Faerie have inexplicably closed, and no one knows why, not even Falcon, the fae Morgan finds trapped on her side of the gate.
As a devastating illness that only affects magic users starts to sweep through the country, Falcon tells Morgan of a way to reach her nieces in Faerie through a mysterious place called Strangehold—if Morgan can trust that Falcon is all that he seems. But with the Queen of Faerie increasingly defensive of her borders, even their combined powers may not be enough to win them through.
With relations between fae and human falling apart and a deadly illness threatening all of her old colleagues, Morgan finds that her past isn't as dead as she'd thought. She must navigate the threats in time to save her nieces—and just maybe the world.

But when a cop friend comes to him with a problem of shade demons devouring the locals in the small town of Halfmoon, things get a little hairy. Ezra has his hands full juggling a possession case, an arsonist sorcerer conjuring fire devils, and an unsealed portal into hell letting demonic nasties crawl out.
