My Week in Review: 4/14/18-4/21/18

I was super excited to come across two new to me series and I can't wait to see where they end up going.  :)  Of course, one is a zombie series.  LOL

Here is what I'd like to share with you today.

Feared by Hell by Michael Anderle - 4 Stars ****

You never mess with a young girl around James Brownstone.
It doesn't matter what crime syndicate you belong to, that just doesn't sit well with him.

The world has changed since the news of Oriceran came out twenty years before. Now, countries all over the world have agreed to using a bounty system for dangerous criminals using advanced magic or advanced technology.

People too powerful for the cops to deal with.

Magical criminals, thugs and bounty hunters, in the future we revert to what worked in the past.

If you find out you are hunted by Brownstone, we suggest you turn yourself in.

It will save you a monumental ass-kicking.

Brownstone likes his life simple, but Life is about to throw him a wicked curveball.

Journey by Brian M Switzer - 4 Stars ****

An exhausted group of survivors. A rumored safe haven. Hundreds of miles separate the two.

The dead rose to feast on the living. A herd of thousands drove the Crandall family off their ranch. Now Will Crandall must lead them to safety.

The Crandalls lead a group of survivors that are running out of food, water, and supplies. They have nowhere to hide in the land of the dead. They hear tale of an old limestone quarry with mineshafts that run for miles underground. There is food, water, and safety there.

But does it really exist? Finding out means a harrowing journey through a countryside infested with the dead...and no promise of haven on the other side.

The Mermaid Trials by Cameron Drake - 4 Stars ****

Losing is dangerous. Winning means everything.

Katriana has been waiting for this moment her entire life.

Once a century, the Royals hold the Trials. Every Mer of a certain age must participate. The contests are brutal. Survival is not guaranteed, but for the victors, the prize is unimaginable.

They are allowed to walk on land.

She is forced to work for her evil stepmother while ignoring the taunts of her spoiled half-sister. She’s desperate to escape. So desperate, she begins the Trials without armor or even a helmet.

Not one to give up, Katriana gives the Trials all she is worth, even catching the eye of a mysterious benefactor who is more than he seems.

How much will she sacrifice to become one of the elite? And if she wins, will she be able to halt mankind’s destruction of the sea?

Blood Rose by Danielle Rose - 3 Stars ***

There's no wrath like that of a witch scorned.

Avah Taylor has been given a death sentence: as one of the only spirit users in her coven, Avah has been chosen to wield The Power, the ultimate weapon against the immortal vampire species witches have been at war with for centuries. The Power, given by the gods to one witch of each generation, is considered a great honor, but every witch before has died trying to master this all-too-powerful gift, one that the shell of a mortal can’t contain for long.

On the night of her birth rite, Avah’s coven is attacked, and Avah is left for dead. Confronted with a terrible choice, Avah must decide to either die or save herself by becoming like her enemies. Forced to seek refuge among the very beings she has sworn to kill, Avah vows revenge on those who took her former life from her.

As Avah slowly transitions into a life of blood and war and battles her own feelings for a man she is supposed to hate, she realizes everything she’s been told is a lie.

I hope you are reading something great!

As always, thanks for stopping by.
