Review: Catching Fire

Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.

Book Blurb:

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark.

But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty.

But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

I loved this book. :)

Again, I don't want to give anything away - and there is so much I want to say. :)

These Hunger Games are horrible. I amazes me that they have been allowed to go on for as long as they have. How can anyone condone the games - much less actively encourage them?

The people of the Capital are entertained by the Games - they see them as a time to celebrate, over eat and dress up.

While reading Catching Fire I was again shaking my head in disbelief - at times all but shouting at the book. I had to put it down and walk away on several occasions - but then I was right back wanting to know what was going to happen next. LOL

And this book ended with a cliff hanger - just like The Hunger Games - only now I have no idea how long I'm going to have to wait to find out what happens next. :)

I love this series. I give Catching Fire and the series as a whole 5 out of 5 stars. :)

Wow! Strong words - it sounds great. I enjoyed the trailer for this, too. I really need to get on this series, better late than never. And might I say the cover looks lovely on your blog. All those great reds!

Anna,

I had not heard of this series until Blodeuedd reviewed The Hunger Games on her blog. I was fascinated by the concept just from reading what she had written. I can't wait for the next one. :)

Have a wonderful day ladies and thanks for stopping by.
