Review: Evermore

This is the first book in the Immortals series by Alyson Noel.

Book Blurb:

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people's thoughts, and know a person's life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school - but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.

Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she's thinking - and he's the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn't know who he really is - or what he is.

I enjoyed this book. :)

Ever has learned to live with the thought that she is responsible for the death of her parents and younger sister. No one feels this way - no one has ever said this to Ever - but she feels responsible.

Having survived a near death experience Ever is a changed person - and she is coping with these changes the only way she knows how - by cutting herself off from the people around her.

Then she sees Damen and for the first time since her accident she feels calm - Ever is both intrigued and wary. Why does this great looking guy make her feel this way?

I'll admit I was thrown by the explanation - I was completely leaning towards the other side of the fence. LOL

Evermore was an interesting read. I enjoyed the character of Ever and look forward to finding out more about the relationship between her and Damen. I have Blue Moon, the next book in the Immortals series on my tbr shelf and look forward to reading it. :)

I give Evermore 4 out of 5 stars. :)

My co-worker and partner-in-paranormal-books told me to read this. She really liked it. Nice review, I guess with two positive recommendations I must add to my TBR!

Omigod, this is one of my favorite books even though I have yet to finish the whole book. I love the characters especially Ever.

We find that she separates herself from the world and her surroundings as a form of protection. Protection for herself and for those around her. She is very afraid of knowing, seeing and hearing everything about everyone. Sometimes it get overwhelming and she just wants out. Maybe what really scares her is that she has access to almost everything, the lives of everyone and everything around her but she does not know the future. She didn't know who or what _____ was, she didnt know what happened to __________, she didn't know what Damen was and she still doesn't know what will happen to her, her sister and her aunt Sabine.

I can't wait to finish the book but also to read the next in the series. :)
