Review: Silver Borne

Silver Borne is the 5th book in the Urban Fantasy Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.

Book Blurb:

Mercy Thompson, car mechanic and shape-shifter, never knows what the day - or night - may bring in a world where 'witches, vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters live beside ordinary people'. But she is about to learn that while some secrets are dangerous, those who seek them are just plain deadly...

Mercy is smart enough to realize that when it comes to the magical fae, the less you know, the better. But you can't always get what you want. When she attempts to return a powerful fae book she previously borrowed in an act of desperation, she finds the bookstore locked up and closed down.

It seems the book contains secrets - and the fae will do just about anything to keep it out of the wrong hands. And if that doesn't take enough of Mercy's attention, her friend Samuel is struggling with his wolf side - leaving Mercy to cover for him lest his own father declare Samuel's life forfeit.

All in all, Mercy has had better days. and if she isn't careful, she may not have many more...

Silver Borne is a great read. :)

Every day Mercy gets a little better at putting the past behind her and moving on with her life. She likes nothing better than a long day at the garage - working on cars - cars are easier to understand than people. And sometimes, less demanding.

Being the mate to Alpha werewolf Adam Hauptman has brought Mercy an entirely different set of demands. Not everyone in the pack is happy with the status that Mercy has been afforded. Some feel that as a coyote shifter - Mercy does not belong in the werewolf pack.

Mercy is still trying to balance things between herself, Adam and the pack - and now Samuel, one of her best friends, is acting strange. To top it all off, the fae have come calling - and Mercy has to answer to them all.

I give Silver Borne 5 out of 5 stars.
