Review: Enraptured by Elisabeth Naughton

Enraptured is the fourth book in the Eternal Guardians series by Elisabeth Naughton and a Paranormal Romance from SourceBooks Casablanca.

Blurb:

Orpheus - To most he’s an enigma, a devil-may-care rogue who does whatever he pleases whenever he wants. Now this loose cannon is part of the Eternal Guardian - elite warriors assigned to protect the human realm - whether he likes it or not.

Orpheus has just one goal: to rescue his brother from the Underworld.  He’s not expecting a woman to get in the way.  Especially not a Siren as gorgeous as Skyla.  He has no idea she’s an assassin sent by Zeus to seduce, entrap, then ultimately destroy him.

Yet Skyla herself might have the most to lose.  There’s a reason Orpheus feels so familiar to her, a reason her body seems to crave him.  Perhaps he’s not the man everyone thinks...

The truth could reveal a deadly secret as old as the Eternal Guardians themselves.

My thoughts:

Orpheus has never played well with others - especially the Argonauts.  Sure he went to bat for them more times than he cares to admit - but ultimately, Orpheus plays on his own team.

When his bother, Gryphon, was taken to the Underworld, Orpheus received the markings of an Argonaut - an honor never before bestowed upon a half daemon.  An honor Orpheus neither asked for - nor acknowledged wanting. The fact that the Argonauts are unaware of his half daemon status is beside the point.

Now Orpheus is looking for the Orb of Kronos.  With the Orb, Orpheus is hoping to harness its’ power, travel to the Underworld and rescue his brother.

Zeus has other plans.  He wants the Orb for himself and he is willing to kill for it.  To that end, Zeus sends an assassin after Orpheus.

Skyla is a Siren, trained by Athena herself.  She asked for this assignment - but has no idea what she’s gotten herself into.

Orpheus and Skyla share a past - a past that neither remember.  The Fates have stepped in to right a wrong - but some things are better left forgotten...

I love the Eternal Guardians series and I was so looking forward to Orpheus’s story - the bad boy, the rebel.

Enraptured did not disappoint.  I give Enraptured 4 out of 5 stars.
