My Week in Review: 8/4/18-8/11/18

This week we came back around to one of my all time favorites due to a new release in an awesome series.  :)  I also found a new to me author/series and that makes me happy.

This weeks theme: Zombies

Zombie Road IV by David A Simpson - 5 Stars *****

The world is recovering from a near extinction level event. Fortified enclaves and barricaded towns have managed to survive the long winter. Spring brings new hope and new beginnings. One boy, thrust too quickly into manhood, is learning to find his way in the new wastelands.

With hopped up machines and purpose built muscle cars to run the roads, a new breed of pony express rider is born.

The Road Angel

The Infected: Karen's First Day by Joseph Zuko
5 Stars *****

Raising kids is tough. Keeping them alive as the zombie apocalypse begins is tougher. But that's exactly what stay-at-home mom Karen needs to do: fight fiercely to keep her young daughters safe as her husband Jim battles his way across the city, so they can escape the carnage together.

On the worst day of her life, Karen finds that she will do anything to protect her family, and that the line between life and death has teeth.

Devour: Death & Decay by R L Blalock - 5 Stars *****

The virus is spreading. People are dying, but they don’t stay dead.

St. Louis is falling to pieces. In the midst of rioting, the outbreak of a dangerous new disease pushes an already dire situation over the edge. Those who are infected suddenly become extremely aggressive, attacking and even eating those around them.

And Olivia Bennett is caught right in the middle of it.

When Liv comes face to face with the infected, her hectic life grinds to a halt as the city around her begins to devour itself. Forced to flee from her car with nothing but her eighteen-month-old daughter, Elli, Liv must trek forty miles on foot across the zombie infested suburbs of St. Louis to a safe haven that may not even be safe.

Fight or die. What other hope does she have?

Time of Death: Induction by Shana Festa - 5 Stars *****

When nowhere is safe to hide, where do you go to escape the monsters?

In a few short days, 37 year old Emma Rossi's hard work will finally pay off. She will don her cap and gown and graduate with a degree in nursing, but not before she loses her first patient and is confronted with a new reality. In Cape Coral, Florida, a storm approaches. The dead are coming back to life.

And they're hungry.

Infection ravages the Eastern Seaboard with alarming speed while attempts to contain the spread of infection fail. Within days, a small pocket of panicked survivors are all that remain of civilization. Fighting to survive the zombie apocalypse alongside her husband Jake and their dog Daphne, Emma comes face-to-face with her worst nightmare.

Z-burbia 3 - Estate of the Dead by Jake Bible - 4 Stars ****

Jace Stanford has lost family, friends, and his arm to the zombie apocalypse that hit his formerly quiet, American subdivision of Whispering Pines. But he has also gained new allies, a new sense of purpose, and something he never in a million years would have thought would be a plus: the cannibal savant known as Elsbeth.

Now facing certain destruction from a faction known as the Consortium, Jace needs Elsbeth’s help more than ever. But is she up to the task when her past is revealed? A past that is possibly more shocking than the zombie apocalypse itself?

Jace may find out the hard way. And in the zombie apocalypse, the hard way usually means a whole lot of people are going to die.

That is my zombie gems for the week.  :)  I hope you are reading something great!

As always, thanks for stopping by.
