My Week in Review: 2/9/19-2/16/19

We have decided to go on our first Disney trip with our grandson.  :)  I don't know if you've ever been to Disney - but it is expensive.  And that is why we are booking now for a trip that we will not take until this time next year.  My husband is the Disney nerd, so I am leaving the planning in his capable hands.

This are the books I want to share with you today.

Clayton by Rachelle Mills - 4 Stars ****

The alpha was supposed to be mine. Our fates were decided by the Moon herself, but he chose to follow his own path to a future that didn’t include me.

Accepting my destined mate’s rejection was the hardest thing I ever had to do, and it cost me my pack, my friends, and in the end…my home.

Now, four years later I have to rejoin my old pack, forced to see him love another female. Her scent is mixed into the crevices of his skin, and every breath I take is slowly killing me little by little.

How do you tell yourself not to breathe?

But there’s one more element to this story, something I didn’t count on…and his name is Dallas Valentine.

I’m drawn to him in a way I can’t explain. There’s something about him, about the scent of his secrets that lures me in, tempting my most primal instincts. But he’s not destined for me, and what chance do I stand against fate?

The Passionate Queen by Jovee Winters - 4 Stars ****

The Passionate Queen

Once upon a time a dragon dared to fall in love with the Queen of Hearts…

Zelena Hermosa wants only one thing, to be free. But for a morphling like her freedom will never be possible. Bought by a witch as a baby, she’s been raised in a household that knows no kindness or love. She’s a broken, dirty child the day she meets her prickly little dragon boy.

Ragoth Nur, heir to the throne of Drakon has just stolen a golden apple from Zeus’s favored orchard. In order to make sure he doesn’t have to face the wrath of the gods (but especially his mom) he runs off to wonderland to enjoy his treat and there bumps into the human girl who will change the course of his life forever.

There’s so much more to the Queen of Heart’s than the stories. So much more than the vindictive woman who shouts, “Off with her heads.” This is the true story of the woman, the legend, and the myth…

What's New, Pussycat? by Dakota Cassidy - 4 Stars ****

Martine Brooks is in a pickle. Derrick Adams is in a jam. Pickles and jam. Not exactly a hot combo. Unless the "pickle" is a sultry, sassy cat shifter and the "jam" is a gorgeous hunk of wolf.

Derrick is cursed to die if he doesn't make the woot-woot with his life mate on the night of the next full moon. Martine's been held captive by a power-hungry warlock for six long months, forced to do his bidding before finding herself stuffed in a cat carrier and ditched at a 7-Eleven.

After rescuing her from a dumpster, Derrick and Martine strike a mutually beneficial deal: mate, save a life, walk away—both alive and kicking. Win! Yet, there are kinks in the plan. Like the fact that Martine's one-time captor is on the hunt, planning to extinguish all of her nine lives at once. Or the fact the curse threatening Derrick's life is about to throw him a monster curve ball.

But the biggest kink might prove to be Derrick and Martine themselves, two avowed commitment-phobes…who are beginning to wonder what forever looks like.

Murder of Crows by Annie Bellet - 3 Stars ***

They say you can never go home again. If only that were true...

Game store owner and nerd sorceress extraordinaire Jade Crow knows death stalks her in the form of her murderous ex-lover, Samir, a sorcerer who wants to eat her heart and take her power. With the help of her friends, and sexy tiger-shifter Alek, Jade trains for the inevitable confrontation.

Until her estranged father shows up begging for help. Someone or something is murdering the crow shifters of Three Feathers ranch and her father believes sorcery is the only way to stop the killings.

Faced with an unknown foe, a family that exiled her decades before, a deepening relationship with Alek, and Samir's ever-present threat, Jade will need all the power she's gained and then some to stop the Murder of Crows.

No Kitten Around by R J Blain - 3 Stars ***

Warning: This novel contains excessive humor, action, excitement, adventure, magic, romance, and bodies. Proceed with caution.

The last thing Reed Matthews needs in his life is a kitten, but when an orphaned tabby suckers him into becoming her caretaker, he’s in for the ride of his life. Add in an angel determined to meddle in his affairs, a devil with an agenda, and a bucketful of bad omens, and he’ll count himself fortunate if he survives the clash between heaven, hell, and his ex.

In this anything goes romp, there’s no kitten around: if Reed wants to survive and regain control of his life, his only hope lies in the hands of an elf and his ex, a woman he’s sworn to never see again.

I quite enjoyed these reads.  I hope you see something you'd like to try.

As always, thanks for stopping by.
