My Week in Review: 2/23/19-3/2/19

I am amazed at how time if flying.  Today we will be celebrating our grandson's first birthday.  I am excited to say that I think he is going to be a reader - he loves it when we read to him.  So far, his favorite series is Clifford the Big Red Dog.  :)

These are the books I want to share with you today.

Edged Blade by J C Daniels - 4 Stars ****

In the year since her life was torn apart, Kit Colbana has slowly rebuilt herself. There’s a promise of hope in the relationship with the alpha of the local shapeshifters and she no longer comes screaming into wakefulness. Life’s not perfect but then again, when was it ever?

When her best friend Justin comes to her for help, there’s little question as to what her answer will be. Witches are disappearing and Justin won’t rest until he has answers. Soon, they learn that it’s not just witches who’ve gone missing, but vampires and shifters, too.

Unlikely alliances are forged as Kit and Justin found themselves drawn into a twisted web of lies and betrayal. As the clock counts down and the culprit behind recent disappearances is revealed, those Kit loves the most become the target of somebody who will kill to protect an ugly secret.

Maggie on the Bounty by Kate Danley - 4 Stars ****

New business partners, Maggie and Killian, are looking forward to their latest job: finding out why all the ghosts are disappearing from the Empress Adelaide, a turn of the century cruise ship which shuttled Hollywood's finest across the Atlantic Ocean during the golden age of movies.

But Maggie and Killian find themselves trapped in the past, caught in a time rift with only a ghost of a chance of escaping. This ain't no pleasure cruise.

Book Three in the MAGGIE MACKAY: MAGICAL TRACKER series

WARNING: This book contains cussing, brawling, and unladylike behavior. Proceed with caution.

Not Her Gargoyle by Annie Nicholas - 4 Stars ****

Ruby is done with jerks, dead-end jobs, and eviction notices. Everyone else she knows is finding ways out of this crappy neighborhood, so why can’t she? Since opportunities refuse to fall from the sky, Ruby makes her own. To hell with the little voice in her heart whispering about love. She never met a man she wanted to keep…then she met a gargoyle. Men were boring after all.

Nick was a con, a thief, and a rogue. He couldn’t keep a dime in his pocket even if it was glued. Then he met a ruby. Not one from the earth but one of flesh and blood. And ass. Let’s not forget the ass. Stealing her heart was now all he wanted.

He has a plan that could make both their dreams come true. It only involves an itsy-bitsy risk. All they must do is rob a witch.

Oh, and avoid the dragons.

Warning: Beware of despicable gargoyles with hearts of gold. They will sweep you off your feet when you're not looking.

Keystone by Dannika Dark - 4 Stars ****

Raven Black hunts evildoers for fun, but her vigilante justice isn’t the only reason she’s hiding from the law. Half Vampire, half Mage, she’s spent years living as a rogue to stay alive. When a Russian Shifter offers her a job in his covert organization hunting outlaws, dignity and a respectable career are finally within her grasp. The catch? Her new partner is Christian Poe - a smug, handsome Vampire whom she’d rather stake than go on a stakeout with.

They're hot on the trail of a human killer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. One misstep during her probationary period could jeopardize Raven’s chance at redemption, and her partner would love nothing more than to see her fail. Will Raven find the courage to succeed, or will she give in to her dark nature?

Tornado by Jasmine Wylder - 3 Stars ***

I am the leader of Savage Brotherhood MC.
My club means everything to me.
It is my family.
My home.
My shelter.
Whoever dares come between us is messing with the wrong wolf.

I do make exceptions though—beautiful, curvy, passionate women.
Ava, that beautiful kitten, hit all the right spots.
Her full breasts, sweet lips, luscious hips — I don’t think I can get over that night.

Now, a vampire targets her.
I've had enough of those suckers lurking.
Preying on shifters and humans alike.
They’ve pushed too far.

But something feels off — I can tell that Ava is hiding something.
We didn’t seem to get off on the right foot, butting heads at everything.

Now, I get it.
She's carrying a baby — my baby girl!

For the sake of our unborn child, I must defeat those vampires!

That's my week.  I hope you are reading something great!
